Sunday Recap - Our Mission: Grow - 16th February 2025

The second line of our Mission Statement: Disciple people to GROW in relationship with Jesus. Once we have surrendered our life to Jesus, we are on a daily journey of growth. God’s desire is for us to be ‘conformed into the image of His Son’(Romans 8:29)

We do this by spending time with Jesus, getting to know His character through reading the Word, prayer, worship and by becoming doers of the Word, surrendering to the Holy Spirits work in us. It is important for us to remember that we all have ‘next steps’ we can take on our journey and this is something that God calls us to do TOGETHER in healthy, Christian community.

Matthew 22:37 You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.
Matthew 28:19-20 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Philppians 1:6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
Mark 1:17 Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
James 1:22-24 22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
John 14:15-17a 15 “If you love me, keep my commands. Well – Jesus goes onto say this… 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth.
1 Corinthians 11:1 Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.
2 Timothy 3:10 10 You, however, know all about my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance.
2 Timothy 2:2 2 And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.
