Sharpened Together - Week 1

As Iron Sharpens Iron

Key Scripture:
Proverbs 27:17 - 'As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another'
Are you a fixer? I'm not just talking about your car, or a renovation, but problems in general. God has wired men to be fixers. We love to find a problem, and fix it. A broken car, an old bathroom, a broken process, coding an application or even a business. Most business ideas are born out of "there must be a better way".

I'm a chronic renovator. I'm always doing something and think "this will take a couple of weeks" only to fall in a heap years later when it is finally complete.

Because we fix the car, or the thing, this often leads to any issues we have in our lives, we will try to just fix it. We fixed the car, so we can fix our dysfunction marriage (or insert problem here). Do we allow space to get around others? Or let them be in our lives, and build with us?

As iron sharpens iron, it isn't about us trying to fix others, but about allowing space for you to do life on life. For some of us, that means we need to be the first to open up. We need to allow others to ask the questions in our life, pray with us, and continue to strengthen each other as we grow in our journey of being a disciple of Jesus.

Ask yourself today, who is allowed to speak into my life?
