Sunday Recap - Armour of God - Week 3 - Ps Anna Howlett

Armour of God - Week 2 - The Shoes of Peace

Message Overview:

Paul tells us to put on the armour so when everything is done we can STAND – Greek word Histemi – Abide, establish, appoint and even Covenant. In order for us to abide and walk in our appointing as new covenant Christians we need to wear the full armour.

The shoes of Readiness come from the Gospel of Peace.

Discuss Objective Peace v Subjective Peace.
The peace of the bible is Objective Peace – God through Jesus Christ has reconciled us to Himself. The penalty of sin has been paid on our behalf and we have been made right with God.
Subjective peace is our experience of peace and based on the environment or our perspective.

We cannot achieve subjective peace without first having peace with God. The pursuit of peace without God is the same deceit of the garden – that we can somehow achieve fullness and freedom beyond God.

Biblical peace gives us identity in Christ that grounds us and enable us to be flexible, tough and have grip in all of life’s terrains – just like the roman soldiers shoes.

Biblical peace leads to readiness! This challenges our desire for comfort and motivates us to share the gospel with those around us.
