Anointed - ACTS 10 | Peter, Cornelius and God's Big plan
Message Overview:
| This week we continued our Anointed series through Acts by exploring one of the most significant moments in the early Church: Peter's encounter with Cornelius in Acts 10. This chapter marks the moment when the Gospel clearly breaks beyond the Jewish people and is revealed as God's salvation plan for all nations. Through a vision given to Peter and an angelic visitation to Cornelius, God orchestrated a divine meeting that would change the course of Church history. For generations, many Jews viewed Gentiles as outsiders, yet God's plan had always been greater than human assumptions. From His promise to Abraham that all nations would be blessed through him, to the prophetic declarations throughout the Old Testament, God's heart was always for the whole world. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon Cornelius and his household demonstrated that salvation came through the Jewish Messiah, but it was never intended only for the Jewish people. Both Cornelius and Peter were people of prayer. As they sought God, they heard His voice and were called into obedience. Peter had to confront long-held assumptions and allow God to reshape his understanding. His story reminds us that hearing God requires humility and a willingness to be corrected, challenged, and transformed by the Holy Spirit. Acts 10 also reminds us that God works through ordinary people. Although God sent an angel to Cornelius, the angel did not preach the Gospel. Instead, God chose to use Peter. Throughout Scripture, God consistently partners with His people to bring the message of reconciliation to the world. As followers of Jesus today, we have been entrusted with that same mission and ministry. Key Takeaways
