Sharpened Together - Week 23

The Move Is On

1 Samuel 5:24
When you hear a sound like marching feet in the top of the poplar trees, be on the alert! That will be the signal that the LORD is moving ahead of you to strike down the Philistine army.
An old song comes to mind when I think of this verse:

Move on brothers
Move on sister
This is the moving day
Move a little closer
Take your stand with Jesus
Move on brother move on
The move is on by Lord the move is on
I hear the rustle in the mulberry tree
I know the move is on

Cath and I have recently sold our home and moved into a unit. We have been contemplating this move for some time and felt the time was ripe now. In that move, we have seem miracle after miracle that helped us to have a smooth transition.

1. We sold our home and purchased a unit the same day.
2. Our grandson, who is at university, had the week off that we moved.
3. Our daughter from Churchill was able to have some time off work during removal week
4. We had prayed for a fine day. It was raining when the the removalists arrived, but cleared up soon after.

In the above scripture, King David is instructed by God on how to approach battle against the Philistines. The verse conveys a divine strategy, revealing a powerful connection between God and David’s actions.

The instruction to listen for the sound of marching in the trees serves as a spiritual signal. This sound represents God moving ahead of David and his army, preparing the way for them. It signifies the importance of being attentive to God’s guidance, as His movements are depicted in the natural world.

The recent prayer and fasting period would have drawn us closer to where God wants us to be. I believe the time is approaching for a great move of God in Australia. As men, God expects us to move into the authority He has given us.

Do not be timid or afraid to declare the goodness of God. Solomon remind us there is a season for everything. Each season has its challenges and positives. There is a stirring in the mulberry trees. It is time to move on.

Some questions relating to this subject come to mind:
- What are the obstacles facing you that may be stopping you from moving on?
- Do you have a clear understanding of where wants God you to be?

I am convinced that God is on the move.
Let us move forward into what God has in store for each of us.
