Sunday Recap - Advance Missions Week Two - June 8th

Advance Missions Week Two – Pastor Jonny Kettle

Message Overview:

On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was poured out upon the first believers and The Church was birthed. Immediately, the first disciples started proclaiming The Gospel of Jesus Christ with boldness to those around them. The Holy Spirit empowers The Church to be a missional body, empowered to bring the message of Jesus to the World around us. As a Church we operate missionanly together through Advance Missions, sharing The Gospel and making disciples locally, nationally and globally. This week we heard the incredible missional work happening at The Nthaliwe Christian Centre of Hope in Malawi, the ministry of Pastor Rachid and His Family to the deaf in Beira, Mozambique as well as the incredible missional work of one of our mission partners to plant 100,000 churches in the most unreached parts of the world.

The Holy Spirit continues to be poured out today upon believers so we can be formed into Christ likeness and empowered to be witnesses of our faith in Christ.

Key Scriptures:

Acts 1:4-5
On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with[b] the Holy Spirit.”

Acts 1:8-9
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.

Romans 10:17
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Matthew 9:37
Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
